We receive many more requests than we can accomodate. Please allow up to 3 weeks for a response, but we do our best to respond to every request.
Please refer to the below FAQ for additional information on who we serve and what types of repairs we can and cannot complete.
Please email charlie@stonesautoservice.com for assistance!
We aim to serve singe mothers, widows and the elderly living in Johnson county. We have many community partners who also refer clients to us as well. We do often serve clients outside our target demographic, so please don't hesitate to submit a request even if you don't meet any of the above criteria.
We can do a lot of different repairs!
What can we NOT do (don't hesitate to reach out if you aren't sure if we can help!)
We charge only for the cost of parts at our cost. We buy from Autozone and we just charge whatever Autozone charges us. We do not charge for labor or any markup on parts. After the work is complete you can pay via cash, card or check.
You don't have to, but you absolutely can! If you bring your own parts, we will install them for no cost! Or if you prefer we will purchase the parts through Autozone with our account which will give you a discount! However, on some items it can be beneficial to purchase from Amazon or rockauto.com.
We currently only complete work at our garage and do not currently have a means to towing. We do have a recommended partner for towing who does their best to keep prices as affordable as possible for our clients. Tell them Stones Auto Service sent you!

Unfortunately we get far more requests than we can accomodate each week. We are often booked 2-3 weeks out and attempt to reach out to every request as quick as we can. We are a completely volunteer run organization so getting in touch with each request can take some time.
Currently we are only open on Tuesday evenings from 5:30pm to 8:30pm by appointment. Clients are able to drop of vehicles at anytime and can leave their keys in our lock box as well as pick up vehicles on another day as well.
No, our team is a group of volunteers who have years of personal experience working on cars, but most are not certified mechanics.
